How to use Trading Console on XFN
Tutorial
![]() |
| The latest feature to arrive at XFN will not dissapoint. As indicated in other posts, the trading console will provide the leagues and their owners with the ability to trade players, trade draft picks, sign/release players while also providing a way for commissioners to keep track of all the transactions through the transaction feeds page. It also includes a notification system that alerts you whenever a trade proposal has been made to you.
The league Commissioners will also have the ability to sign/release players from any team and will also be capable of trading for any team. However, the Commissioner will not be able to accept trades proposed by his team. The Trading console also has a built-in security check that is implemented in order to avoid sync errors. The check will not allow 1 team to process 2 trades at the same time. This means that if 2 proposals from the same team are being accepted at the same time, one of the proposals will receive a message asking him/her to wait while the other proposal accepted is finished processing. The same security check is applied when signing and releasing players. |
| The question of the day. How will it work? First, we must learn the rules applied by the console when trading. |
| The most important thing to know is that trades proposed through XFN can only be accepted on XFN and trades proposed on madden cannot be accepted on XFN.
(1) Player Limits by position: These are the same parameters set in madden. For example: If you’re trading a LOLB for a ROLB, and you only have 1 LOLB, madden won’t allow the trade to get processed because that would leave the position at “0”. => means more then or equals to QB=>2 HB=>1 WR=>2 FB=>1 TE=>1 LT=>1 LG=>1 C=>1 RG=>1 RT=>1 LE=>1 RE=>1 DT=>2 LOLB=>1 MLB=>1 ROLB=>1 CB=>3 FS=>2 SS=>2 K=>1 P=>1 (2) Team Roster Limits: Madden limits you to 55 players per team roster. league MAX limit is 55 league min limit is 28 (3) Only 6 players per trade proposal. (4) Trading with a cpu team is not allowed. (5) Teams are allowed to trade prior to their week 1 games. However, on the ensuing weeks; teams must have played their game in order for the trade to be processed. (6) Trade deadline is week 6. |
| The fun stuff begins! Lets have a look at the “Propose Trade” page. |

The above image displays the layout of the Sign/Release page. Commissioners familiar with the add/release feature on the EA site this system will look very familiar. For the Commissioners this page will display a drop down box which allows them to select any team and have the ability to sign a free agent or release a player by simply clicking on the sign or release buttons.
For league members, this page will simply display their team roster and have the same ability to release Note that if you click on a player’s name, a pop up window displaying all their ratings will appear. This will work in all the pages. |

| The transactions is basically the news hub of the trading console. All transactions done with the console will be recorded to this page.
The page can be set to display only the trades, signings or releases. It can also be set to display only a specific team’s activity on the trading console. Important to note that the transactions page will only keep track of the activity done through the XFN website. |

| The Roster breakdown page is exactly what the name states. A breakdown of your team roster by position. |
